i just re-watched Battle: LA and noticed that I wasn't getting things into my posts about the environment.
1. LA is under constant bombardment from the aliens as they advanced.
2. There is alot of smoke on the front line. as we are in Inglewood at 9am, maybe the front line hasn't gotten to us yet. the ambush could be us reaching out and touching the advanced party.
3. the aliens seem to prefer fighting from the high ground. mainly from roof tops and such. They have some leaping ability. jumping from one roof to the next. So i would assume that they can jump 20-30 ft max with a running start. But they don't jump down from heights over 2 maybe 3 stories.
4. COMMS. they attack in the direction of comms, maybe due to limited visibility or vision restrictions. They definitely can home in on transmissions.
5. Heavy weapons for the aliens. In the movie, you see 1 support weapon (walking rocket launcher) and 2 veh. (drones and a tank like Veh at the end as they destroy the CNC ship. As for what the alien inf use. some sort of rocket or grenade launcher as well as incendiary rounds that don't really penetrate metal very well, but apparently have explosive tips. Cases in point. One marine shot in the helmet suffered burns to the face, but rounds hitting concrete blew our rather large chunks.
if anyone else can thing of tactics or environmental things to consider when posting your feel of the story.
